North Chicago Treasurer Vance Wyatt Elected Second Vice President of the Illinois Municipal Treasurer's Association

North Chicago, IL - June 25, 2024 - The City of North Chicago Treasurer's Office proudly announces that Treasurer Vance Wyatt has been elected as the Second Vice President of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association (IMTA).

Treasurer Wyatt's election to this prestigious position is a testament to his exemplary service, dedication, and expertise in municipal finance. Since his election as North Chicago City Treasurer in 2021, Wyatt has achieved significant milestones, including breaking the city's investment and banking interest record in Fiscal Year 2023 and nearly doubling it in 2024. His innovative efforts have also brought the city into compliance with the Department of Justice and Department of Treasury reporting requirements after a three-year lapse and introduced an online portal for residents to monitor municipal spending.

Wyatt's leadership has been instrumental in developing financial projections that aim to fund North Chicago's distressed pension funds without increasing property taxes. His extensive experience, including serving on the Board of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association, makes him an invaluable asset in his new role as Second Vice President.

The Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association is dedicated to advancing the treasury profession through education, networking, and the sharing of best practices. Wyatt's election reflects his peers' confidence in his ability to contribute to the IMTA's mission and further strengthen the financial stewardship of municipalities across Illinois.
