Not Registered to Vote?

Registration requirements
You must:

  • be a U.S. citizen,
  • be a resident of your precinct for 30 days before Election Day,
  • be 18 years old on or before the general election,
  • not be in jail for (but you can vote if you have completed your sentence, this includes felons)
  • provide two forms of valid identification ( A current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or government document that shows your name and address).

    Both pieces of identification must show your name, and one must show your physical Lake County street address.

Registration deadlines

  • In Person: Election Day
  • By Mail: Postmarked 28 days before Election Day.
  • Online: 16 days before Election Day.

How Do I Vote?

Voting by Mail

  • Available only to registered voters.
  • Required application available
  • Clerk's office must receive your completed application by noon on Thursday, .
  • Ballots expected to be ready for mailing January 14th.
  • Voted ballots must be returned with a postmark no later than Election Day.

Early Voting

Early Voting for 2025 Election Dates and times have not been released yet.
